Arsenal Fest is usually being held by the end of June in the city of Kragujevac, the heart of Šumadija and a former capital of Serbia, most recognizable nowadays for its authentical car industry. Arsenal has proved itself, in just a few years of its existence, as one of the most interesting, most relevant and most perspective open-air summer festivals in Serbia, former Yugoslavia and this part of Europe. Arsenal has built its unique status and respectability among other festivals as a must-see event, by bringing together carefully selected performers from Serba, countries of former Yugoslavia and abroad and putting them to play in an original and a visually stuning setting. For decades, the festival grounds, by all means unique, was held inaccessible for public.
MAIN STAGE
Being set in an authentic landscape of Knežev arsenal, a military fabric dating from 19t century, the Main Stage leaves a very special impression. The Stage is situated in an open space and is surrounded by some old buildings made of red bricks. The visitor will experience an extraordinary mixture of modern sound and light systems and specific industrial architecture.
EXPLOSIVE DJ STAGE
Not far from the Main Stage, the visitor will found the Explosive DJ Stage, the sole festival stage that is set indoors – in a building called Čaurnica, another picturesque setting of historical importance. It was used some years ago as a shooting set for TV series Titanic – Blood And Steel.
GARDEN STAGE
Arsenal Fest is visually defined with three stages, with the third being the Garden Stage. This is the second biggest stage and is located in Zastavina bašta (Zastava’s Garden), a space rich with trees and greenery next to the festival grounds’ entrance.
The visitor will also find numerous stands with souvenirs, information, merchandize, etc.
The location of Arsenal fest is another huge advantage of the festival, because it is situated just a few hundred meters from the downtown Kragujevac, but is, at the same time, completely isolated from the tumult of the city that has 200.000 residents.
The numbers are also in favour of the festival. It started in 2011. with a single stage. The next year, 2012. the festival got its second stage – Zastavina bašta. The third one, Red Bull Stage was put in use in 2013, but renamed next year as Explosive DJ Stage. In the year of 2011, the festival had some 10.000 visitors. In 2012 it was visited by 15.000 people. In 2013 and 2014 it was visited by some 25.000 people. With such a progression, the Arsenal Fest 05 in 2015 had more than 100.000 visitors. That is why the organizers, Dom omladine Kragujevac and concert agency Long Play invite you to visit the Arsenal Fest.
