05 May Skindred, Škrtice, Kralj Čačka at Arsenal!
British metal-hiphop-punksters Skindred and Serbian band Škritce, led by Zoran Kostić Cane, the legendary singer of Partibrejkers, will perform on Arsenal Fest’s Main stage in Kragujevac on 24th of June. Cult Serbian band Kralj Čačka will play Arsenal the same night, on Garden Stage.
“We’ve been all over the world but there are always new places to visit and new crowds to play for. We just want to keep getting bigger and better…We know that everyone recognises us as one of the best live bands around,” says Arya Goggins, the drummer of Skindred.
The band’s frontman Benji Webbe has a remarkable ability to pair most addictive and heaviest metal riffs with fat hip-hop and reaggae grooves, infused with a needful dose of electronica and pop sensibility – one can hear that in “Rat Race”, “Kill the Power”, “Ninja”, “Trouble” and other Skindred’s hits.
“Škrtice at Arsenal! Come to see what you need to see!” says Zoran Kostić Cane, who played Arsenal three times with Partibrejkers, and now he is coming there for the first time with his supergroup Škrtice, that is comprised by two guitar players – Vladimir Kolarić Kole (Veliki prezir) and Boris Mladenović (Jarboli), and a bass player, Danilo Luković (Straight Mickey and the Boyz).
The band’s live performances are wild, audacious and sweaty – on par with the sound of their eponymous first album (2016) – delivering an explosive mix of punk, hard rock, new wave, hardcore and experimental music. Cane sums it all in just three words: “hard, powerful, true”.
Arsenal fest will see Kralj Čačka (King of Čačak) for the first time. The Serbian Tom Waits, scheduled to play Arsenal’s Garden Stage on 24th of June, is the best kept secret of Serbian music scene. The band led by singer-songwriter-guitarist Nenad Marić has recently immortalized its unique blend of rebelous, dreamlike chansons, blues and jazz on the acclaimed debut album “Zemlja snova”.
Anthrax, Buzzcocks, Elvis Jackson and others will play Arsenal 07 on June 22nd. Thievery Corporation, Ana Popović will play there on june 23rd. Dub FX, Urban&4, Rambo Amadeus will play on June 24th.
